What’s In My Bag – Universal Studios Edition

So what’s in my Universal Studios bag? Well let’s dig in and find out!

Water Bottle

My biggest tip for anyone is to always bring your own water bottle. I never go to the parks without one of mine. You can always walk up to counter service restaurants and ask for a cup (or two) of ice water and you can refill your water bottle for free! Plus there are water fountains all over the parks for fill ups. This Yeti bottle is a favorite because it is a bit smaller (12 oz), it doesn’t leak when I put it in my bag and it keeps the contents cold.

Sunscreen

I never leave the house without my sunscreen so I would never go to the parks without it. I always pack a smaller bottle for my face lotion and then either a spray bottle or another lotion for the rest of me. The sun is strong in Florida and you can’t always stand in the shade so protection is vital.

Wallet

Of course you are going to want to bring your wallet but you do not need to bring anything big. This small card case is the perfect size to hold onto any cards you might need. Plus you can add in a little cash just in case.

Sunglasses

I never take my expensive sunglasses to the parks just in case they break or I lose them. These Amazon sunglasses are my favorite and are so light.

Portable Charger (& cord)

This is a no-brainer for anyone with a smartphone! You will be using the app and will probably be taking a lot of photos, your battery will probably not make it to the end of the day. I use this Anker charger and love it! And don’t forget a cord!

Chapstick

I usually opt for a chapstick with SPF because ya know… Florida. For the winter, I usually pack a thicker option like this Summer Fridays lip balm so my lips don’t get too chapped.

Hat and/or Hair ties

Depending on what vibe you are going for, I always recommend an extra option for park days. If I start with my hair down, I will always bring a hair tie and a hat just in case I need them. (See more below…)

Ziploc Bags

You may think this is a weird thing to keep in your bag but I’m telling you… you are going to want to keep these in your bag. Whether it is to store your phone/valuables for water rides, keep track of loose items or for random snacks. Just trust me on this!

Hand Sanitizer

I don’t go anywhere without my hand sanitizer now so of course I have one in my parks bag. You are going to want to have it after going on the attractions and before you have that yummy snack!

Fan

Fans are not necessary but they are certainly beneficial during the spring/summer/fall seasons. Plus, how cute is the personal handheld fan!

Rain Gear

Depending on how cool it is, I usually pack either a rain jacket (for cooler temps) or a poncho (for warmer temps). It is most likely going to rain so you might as well be prepared for it.

Depending on when you visit or your own personal needs, here are some other things you might want to pack in your bag.

Other Items

  • Lanyards
  • Feminine products
  • Deodorant
  • Advil
  • Bandaids/First Aid
  • Snacks

I hope that you enjoyed these theme park tips and that it helped you with your next trip. Universal is not as bag friendly as Disney is so I never try to carry anything too valuable. There are plenty of bag check areas before rides so be sure to use them as frequently as you can!
