Books I Read in 2024

As 2024 draws to a close, I’m taking a moment to reflect on the books that filled my year with love, adventure, and plenty of swoon-worthy moments. My Goodreads account has been buzzing with activity as I delved into a mix of contemporary romance, heart-pounding fantasy, and emotionally charged dramas. And I am proud to say that I beat my 2024 reading challenge! I set my goal at 40 books (up from 30 books last year) and I am finishing this year with 65 books! I am so proud of myself and excited to beat my goals for next year too!

Here’s a look back at the books I read in 2024…

The Best Books (In My Opinion)

Here are the best books I read this year and why they left a lasting impression.

1. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

This book was an absolute thrill ride from start to finish. The world-building was rich and immersive, drawing me into a world filled with dragons, intense training, and fierce rivalries. The romance between the protagonists was beautifully crafted, filled with tension and emotional depth. Yarros masterfully blended action, intrigue, and heartfelt moments, making this one of the most captivating fantasy reads of the year.

2. Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

An epic conclusion to an incredible fantasy series, this book was packed with emotion, powerful character arcs, and breathtaking battles. Aelin’s journey was both heartbreaking and inspiring, as she faced impossible odds and sacrificed so much for her people. The battle scenes were cinematic, the friendships deeply moving, and the romance absolutely gut-wrenching. Maas delivered an unforgettable finale that left me in awe.

3. Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

This contemporary romance was heartwarming and emotional, with well-developed characters and a storyline that tugged at my heartstrings. The story follows a city girl and a small-town carpenter who come from completely different worlds but find unexpected love. The witty dialogue, deep emotional layers, and themes of self-discovery made this a truly touching read. Jimenez excels at crafting relatable characters and realistic relationships, making this book stand out.

4. Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren

A beautifully written second-chance romance that perfectly balanced nostalgia, heartbreak, and hope. Told through dual timelines, the book explores the deep friendship and love between childhood best friends who lost touch due to a painful past. The chemistry between the main characters was palpable, and their journey of rediscovering each other was incredibly moving. This book reminded me of the power of words, love, and fate.

5. Wild Love by Gillian Archer

This book delivered an unforgettable romance with chemistry that leaped off the pages, making it one of my favorite love stories of the year. Set in the rugged beauty of Montana, it follows a free-spirited woman and a brooding, fiercely protective cowboy. Their love story was filled with passion, vulnerability, and emotional growth. Archer’s writing made the setting feel alive, and the slow-burn romance kept me hooked until the very last page.
