The Best Golf Books

When the weather is nice outside, I will most likely be at the golf course. But when the weather is not ideal, I will be either reading about golf, watching golf or finding a way to incorporate golf somehow into my day to day.

I love to reading so compiling a list of my favorite golf books won’t be very hard but these are some of my the best golf books in my opinion. Check them out!

Golf is Not a Game of Perfect
by: Dr. Bob Rotella

SYNOPSIS FROM AMAZON: “Filled with insightful stories about golf, Dr. Bob Rotella’s delightful book will improve the game of even the most casual weekend player.

Dr. Bob Rotella is one of the hottest performance consultants in America today. Among his many professional clients are Nick Price (last year’s Player of the Year), Tom Kite, Davis Love III, Pat Bradley, Brad Faxon, John Daly, and many others. Rotella, or “Doc,” as most players refer to him, goes beyond just the usual mental aspects of the game and the reliance on specific techniques. What Rotella does here in this extraordinary book, and with his clients, is to create an attitude and a mindset about all aspects of a golfer’s game, from mental preparation to competition. The most wonderful aspect of it all is that it is done in a conversational fashion, in a dynamic blend of anecdote and lesson. And, as some of the world’s greatest golfers will attest, the results are spectacular. Golfers will improve their golf game and have more fun playing. “

This was one of the first golf books I ever read. It was like my introduction to the game of golf. I have help onto the copy for over 10 years.

Zen Golf: Mastering the Mental Game
by: Dr. Joseph Parent

SYNOPSIS FROM AMAZON: “The best players know that golf is a game of confidence, and most important, concentration–the ability to focus and block out distraction.

The goal of achieving clear thought is also at the heart of Buddhist teachings. In his highly original and groundbreaking book, noted PGA coach and Buddhist instructor, Dr. Joseph Parent, draws on this natural connection and teaches golfers how to clear their minds, achieve ultimate focus, and play in the moment for each shot.”

I read this book while I was in college playing golf and I still look back to it in times of need. It really helps you get into the right mindset when walking out onto the golf course and helps you prepare for the mental side of golf.
