Let’s get real for a quick second. It is hard enough to be an “adult” these days but now we all have to incorporate a workout into our work day?! Sheesh! Thankfully athleisure has made it easier to be fashionable & still get a workout in.
I still remember the days were I was going through multiple outfits in college to try and juggle my style. Now workout clothes are so cute that you can basically wear them everywhere!
But there are some guidelines that you might want to follow when incorporating athleisure into your wardrobe. Check them out below!
GUIDELINE #1 Accessorize appropriately
Try not to go crazy with the accessories. I think that mirrored sunglasses or a leather jacket are classic when trying to “dress up” your workout clothes. I also like to have my backpack handy. It is easy to take on errands and easy to take to the gym. I can fit all of my essentials in it like a water bottle, my wallet, keys and some extra deodorant.
GUIDELINE #2 Stick to Neutrals
It is okay to go a bit crazy sometimes but try to stick to neutrals as much as you can. Or at least have one piece that is a neutral. I like to stick to my black leggings and add a fun top in either a print, bright color or stripe. I will say that going a bit crazy is very trendy right now but I like to still stick to those neutrals when I am planning on taking the athleisure to the “streets.”
GUIDELINE #3 Mix & Match
Invest in your pieces wisely. Go for a great black legging from Lululemon and then mix & match with other fun seasonal pieces like a great sports bra, a fun colored tank or some cute, flashy sneakers!
