Every once a while I like to do a style assessment reboot on my own style to see where I am and how my style has grown. It has been a while since my last personal style assessment so I decided to sit down and actually reassess my style and where I want it to go these next few years.
There are 3 things I do when planning my style assessment. First I pick what “style” or “styles” I feel most represent myself (I got this idea from Allison Bernstein – she specializes in the 3 word method and it really resonated with me), then I pick the color schemes then I will head to Pinterest for inspiration and then “shop” for items I find that inspire me. While I am doing this, I will save images and put together a style mood board (below) to see where I am and what I am loving at the moment.
Check out all my findings below…
All of these images were found on Pinterest. I have them all linked on this Pinterest Board: Style Assessment
Coastal (Classic) Inspiration
J.Crew is always my go-to when looking for that coastal/classic style. It has that bit of luxurious look to its items that seem to last for so long. I love getting my button ups, swimwear and blazers from here.
Glam Inspiration
When I am searching for an item that can be a bit more trendy, I always search for it at some place like Target. I can get a great piece and then not feel as bad about the price when that piece is not longer “in style.” They also have some great basics like linen tees, tanks or sandals. If I can’t find exactly what I am looking for, I also head to Nordstrom and find amazing things that give the extra glam I am looking for. Amazon is also great if you are looking for a d u p e.
Sporty Inspiration
The sporty style for me is all about comfort and clean lines. Whether I am golfing, working out or just lounging, I want to be as comfortable as possible. I also like my athleisure to look clean and polished. With that being said, I stick to places like Aerie, Vineyard Vines, Nike and Lululemon so clothes in this style.
I hope that this style assessment gave you a bit of inspiration for your next shopping trip! If you have any questions or need help with any of the links, leave a comment or send me an email!
