Hello again! Welcome back to book club. I hope that you all enjoyed the last two books. This month is going to be good as well. I have been looking forward to reading them both for some time. I have just been waiting for the right […]
Happy Novemeber! Since it is the first of the month… Y’all know what time it is! NEW MUSIC TIME! It is November 1st and that means is it “acceptable” to start listening to Christmas music… even though I secretly already started a couple days ago 🙂 […]
Happy Halloween! I hope everyone has a fun & spooky day. I do not have any plans tonight except to watch Hocus Pocus & hand out candy but in case you are in need of some last minute halloween costume ideas… I got you covered.
To be honest, the only reasons why I only like Halloween are because of Harry Potter & Hocus Pocus. I love any excuse to watch those movies, dress up like the characters from the movies & eat a bunch of candy. But tonight I am keeping it low-key.
Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s
This costume will probably be the easiest to get together. All you need it a black dress, pearls, some big sunglasses & a coffee cup!
Rosie the Riveter
This outfit is pretty easy to get together too. All you need are a pair of jeans, a chambray shirt, a red scarf/bandana & a bold red lip.
This next costume is a bit more difficult but my personal favorite…
You will need a black skirt, white button down, black (or dark grey) sweater & of course some accessories in your house colors… and a wand if you have it!
Thanks again for reading and coming along with me. I hope that you like these last minute halloween costume ideas! For outfit ideas, check out my Style page. Enjoy!
Happy October! Since it is the first of the month… Y’all know what time it is! NEW PLAYLIST TIME! Fall is finally here and I am totally excited! As always, my music reflects my mood and well let’s just say it has been a rollercoaster of […]

BOOK CLUB SELECTIONS
The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley: A Novel // “Samuel Hawley isn’t like the other fathers in Olympus, Massachusetts. A loner who spent years living on the run, he raised his beloved daughter, Loo, on the road, moving from motel to motel, always watching his back. Now that Loo’s a teenager, Hawley wants only to give her a normal life. In his late wife’s hometown, he finds work as a fisherman, while Loo struggles to fit in at the local high school. Growing more and more curious about the mother she never knew, Loo begins to investigate. Soon, everywhere she turns, she encounters the mysteries of her parents’ lives before she was born. This hidden past is made all the more real by the twelve scars her father carries on his body. Each scar is from a bullet Hawley took over the course of his criminal career.” – Amazon
I am so excited to dive into this adventurous suspense novel. I can’t wait to see the story unfold.
Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us // “Most people believe that the best way to motivate is with rewards like money—the carrot-and-stick approach. That’s a mistake, says Daniel H. Pink (author of To Sell Is Human: The Surprising Truth About Motivating Others). In this provocative and persuasive new book, he asserts that the secret to high performance and satisfaction-at work, at school, and at home—is the deeply human need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new things, and to do better by ourselves and our world.” – Amazon
I always like to read one “fun” book & one “educational” book a month. This kind of evens out the reading for me. I came across this book when I was reading an article on self motivating and this book seemed perfect. I can’t wait to read all about it.
Thanks again for reading with me every month! I hope you enjoy all of these selections just like I do. I have heard so many great things about these books so I hope that they are as good as the reviews.

With a new season. you will need to freshen up that polish. I got a question asking what my favorite fall nail polish colors are this season. After some thought, I came up with these 5 colors. Ironically, before I got this question I had […]
One of the most asked question I get this time of year is actually a very simple one for me. Not only is this my favorite time of year for the weather, it is also my favorite time of year for fashion. I love everything about fall clothes and some of my favorite pieces of all time and for this season.
So you might be thinking…
What are my fall essentials?
Well lets dive in! So there are probably 5 things that I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT for fall. These are basically my “fall essentials” and I think that with everyones wardrobe, they are basically necessary.
A Great Pair of Jeans | When the weather gets cooler, I literally live in jeans. Whether it is just basic pair of jeans, your favorite boyfriend jeans or a pair of black jeans, it Isi important to have at lease one go-to pair of jeans. I have two pairs of jeans that I will live in this fall. These skinny, stretch jeans from Old Navy & my flare 7FAM A-pockets.
UPDATE: Keep in mind you don’t have to opt for a “traditional” blue jean. I live in my black jeans all fall. I think they are so versatile and simple. Also, if you live in the south like I do… I totally disregard the “white after labor day” rule. I wear my white jeans all year round.
A Chambray Shirt | One my go-to tops during fall is a chambray shirt. It is also basically my go-to top during any season. So I basically live in this top. I actually own 3 different chambray tops: Nordstrom, Old Navy, J.Crew.
Mules | I recently got a new pair of mules to celebrate the upcoming fall season and I have fallen in love with them. I love the Gucci mules but they were a bit steep in price. Luckily for me I found an alternative with a fraction of the price! And to top it of… they are from Target!
Lightweight Jacket | The lightweight jacket is one of the easiest pieces to obtain for the fall season. This fall essential is also one of my favorites. There are so many different options so you can really have fun with it. My go-to lightweight jacket is a jean jacket. I got mine from The Loft and it is a staple for every season for me. You can also go with a leather jacket, cargo jacket, boyfriend blazer or bomber jacket. Pick whichever suits your style best!
Transition Bag | For me, I have “two” bags that I call my transition bags. My Louis Vuitton in the classic monogram is always my go-to for the fall months. I love the rich color of the browns in the bag and it is a classic piece. The other “transition” bag is usually something more trendy, Last year I carried a army green bucket bag but this year is still up for debate. I am loving the new bags at target so I might have to pick one up. Check them out below…
All of these items are perfect for the transition of fall weather & fall colors. Mix and match with what you have and have fun with it! One tip that I will give you… If you want to be careful on the budget, do not spend a lot of money on “seasonal” or “trendy” items. Splurge on the classics and save on the trendy.
